    This session will showcase the Brain-Based Career Development (BBCD) model, which is based on cutting edge neuropsychological research.

    Following this program, you will be able to:

    • Understand the Brain-Based Career Development model;
    • Examine “decision making” and “taking action” from a brain-based perspective;
    • Examine how clients become overwhelmed;
    • Practice the seven BBCD coaching techniques; and
    • Formulate a plan for how to implement the BBCD model in current career development practices.
    Day One:  Optional networking dinner
    Based on interest and availability.

    Day Two:  Sharing Information / Best Practices

    The agenda will include 5-6 topic-focused discussions presented or facilitated by CCCC members. Mini-Grant recipients are encouraged to use this opportunity to share what they have learned from their funded professional development programs/conferences.

    Additional topics could be covered, such as:

    • Handshake tips, strategies, implementation, marketing, best practices, etc.
    • NACE Conference
    • NACE Management Leadership Instititute
    • CliftonStrengths

    Parking is available in the lot in front of the building, which is easily identifiable by the large “The Exchange” banner. Being summer, parking shouldn’t be a problem, so any open space is fair game (other than handicapped, 15-minute parking, and the few specifically reserved for guests of The Exchange – other than CCCC participants).

    Note: The Candlewood Suites Indianapolis Northwest has a discounted rate for Marian University

    Travel reimbursement

    Each CCCC member institution is eligible for a one-time travel reimbursement (lodging, food, gas/mileage) of up to $200 to offset the cost of attending the professional development program. Receipts should be submitted at the conclusion of the training to Kirk Bryans, CCCC Treasurer.

    For this fair we are utilizing Career Fair Plus, a mobile app designed to enhance the career fair experience. The app allows students the ability to see which companies are attending and research employers before arriving. Through Career Fair Plus there is the option to be a “Featured Employer.” This pushes your company to the top of the employer list in the app, allows your logo to be shown on the splash screen when students open the app, and encourages the students to click on your company bio.

    If you are interested in becoming a Featured Employer, please select “Advertisement/Sponsorship” in the registration form, or for those who have already registered please contact us for more information. Deadline is now October 12th to become a Featured Employer.
